Signed upper right with signature E.Zampighi red Author: Eugenio Zampighi (Modena 1859-1944) Measures: cm. 46 x 58 Biography: Enrolled very young at the Academy of Fine Arts in Modena, he welcomed from his first essays on historical subjects the suggestion of the realistic lesson of the Modena painter Giovanni Muzioli. Having obtained the Poletti painting prize in 1880, he had the opportunity to continue his studies first in Rome then in Florence where he settled permanently in 1884. In the 1980s, he inaugurated a repertoire of scenes from kind which guarantees him an extraordinary commercial fortune and the favor of an international clientele. Functional to pictorial practice is the intense activity of photographer carried out mainly in the studio with the help of models in costumes of peasants and commoners. From the photographic images, the artist recreates a joyful and idyllic image of the Italian rural world, devoid of any accent of social denunciation, but appreciated by foreign tourists to the point of requesting the mass production of the same lucky shots still in the first decades. of the XXth century.
