Bronze statue depicting Dante Alighieri (1265/1371) poet, writer, thinker and politician, author of the Divine Comedy, considered one of the major figures of Italian literature. The author of the sculpture, Affortunato Gory (active between 1895 and 1925) was born in Florence, a pupil of Augusto Rivalta, he was in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century and exhibited his works at the Salon des Artists Français from 1904 to 1923. Signature A. GORY on the base, brand of the founder Factory Vojave Brussels, patina nuanced origin, very beautiful state of presentation era at the beginning of the twentieth.
