his elegant centre desk, therefore finished on all four sides, was made in the 19th century in France, in the Louis XV style. The wooden structure is veneered with bois de rose wood. The slightly wavy and curved top has a green leather insert, stamped along the gold border. On the front the cabinet has three drawers: a central and two deeper side. The four legs are arched and give gracefulness to the overall composition. The feet have bronze gilded and chiselled tips with volutes and vegetable ornaments. The entire desk is embellished with applications in gilded bronze and finely chiselled: borders, frames, mouthpieces of the latches of the pulls, have ornaments phytomorphic taste rocaille. Very special and valuable are the four all-round applications in golden bronze on the pillars of the legs. These are finely chiselled bronze sculptures with female busts that become leaf-like elements.
The light and bright wooden essence and the sophistication of the decorative elements make this desk very pleasant, light as a whole and easily adaptable in any environment. Its predisposition to the center table also allows it to be exposed in any furnishing situation.
