Rare and elegant pair of giltwood and finely carved chairs "a la reine" from the Louis XV period.
Model has a violin backrest with a rounded top centered with a bouquet of flowers, the shoulders finely carved with flowering branches, the belt It stands on arched legs topped with a cartouche with florets and ends in a small winding of foliage.
The back of the backrest receives a decoration engraved in the thick gold leaf with the motifs of windings. The rear legs are decorated with large acanthus leaves engraved in the gilding.
Traditional trim, natural horsehair and straps. Covered with silk from Lelievre.

Although it does not bear a stamp, our pair of chairs, by their quality, reveals the work of an excellent master carpenter. The finesse of the sculpted decoration, the use of reparure, the eventful and daring shape of the backrest allow us to attribute this work to Jean Baptiste Tilliard.
