Works of art, sculptures and furniture Haute Epoque
This large gilded brass alms dish was made in Nuremberg around 1500.
The entire ornamentation of the umbilicus radiates symmetrically around a central point. In relief, the decoration of revolving gadroons is encircled by a frieze of inscriptions in Gothic letters and fleur-de-lys on the marli.
Offering dishes very similar to ours can be found in Hermann P. Lockner's Messings, published in 1982. (pp. 51).
