17th century cabinet with two doors, three drawers on the front, surmonted by an upper part in the shape of a decorated dome, hiding a secret.
This small cabinet is in blackened pear wood, entirely inlaid with precious scagliola slabs in imitation of the inlays of various marble : Verona red, rose de Clarté, Siena yellow, Flanders black, Sainte Anne gray…
The two leaves on the front reveal ten drawers inlaid with scagliola slabs. In the center, a small door, with an architectural motif, opens and reveals in a central niche, a series of six small secret drawers.
This precious and refined cabinet rests on five hemispherical feet carved with scrolled foliage. It was intended to serve as a receptacle of precious and intimate objects.
