Henri Godet was born in Paris on 5 March 1863 and died in Vincennes in 1937.
Godet was a sculptor and medal engraver. He was known for his numerous busts of women decorated with flowers. He made many sculptures in bronze but very few in marble.
Godet exhibited regularly at the Salons from 1883 until his death.
This very specialised artist published his works himself.
The Musée d'Orsay acquired earthenware sketches by Mr Godet.
