Acques Coquillay Yanna with the shell, Bronze signed and numbered Height 100 cm Jacques Coquillay was born on June 3, 1935. He entered the School of Fine Arts in Tours in the sculpture section. In 1958, he obtained the National Sculpture Diploma. He is a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studio of Marcel Gimond. In 1960, he obtained the Higher Diploma of Plastic Art 30-09-2009 (mention bien). When Gimond died, he entered the Atelier of Hubert Yencesse and Raymond Corbin. In 1961, he was admitted to the Concours de Rome - Logiste. At the Prix de Rome Jury, he met Jean Carton, Raymond Martin and Georges Hilbert with whom he befriended. He formed a group of Young Sculptors, helped by Belmondo, and produced several group exhibitions. In 1972, he met Dunoyer de Segonzac who encouraged him and bought him his first bronzes. In 1983, he was elected to the Vice - Presidency of French Artists. Retrospective of Coquillay's work at the Salon d'Automne 1992. Jehan des Vignes-Rouges Prize, Académie de Versailles in 1993. Appointed Painter of the Navy in 1995.
