Elegant Transition chest of drawers known as "sauteuse", stamped by the Parisian cabinetmaker Pierre-Harry Mewesen. He was of Scandinavian origin, and he was received as Master on March 26, 1766.
The chest of drawers has an inlaid decor in rosewood, amaranth and green stained wood.
There is a decor with threads, '' Grecques '' and trompe l'oeil fluting.
Beautiful gilded bronzes enhance this decor (on the drawers, the uprights, the feet, as well as on the apron)
This chest of drawers is based on four arched feet with gilt bronze clogs.
There is a gray Sainte Anne marble

Historical annecdote :
Swedish-born Pierre-Harry Mewesen obtained his Masters on March 26, 1766. He moved to rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in his shop "la main d'or". He will work there until the Revolution.
He produces some Louis XV style furniture but especially Transition and Louis XVI style furniture.
