17th & 18th centuries Furniture and Statuary
Exceptional armoire in carved and molded walnut, from Lyon.
It has two doors carved with foliage, flowers and shells in strong relief.
The top rail is richly carved with rockery plant motifs and a large shell.
Above there is a "double revolution" cornice ovec a frieze of ovals.
The sides have molded panels.
This elegant cabinet has all its original ironwork (its keyhole, its lock, its two internal cremones, its hinges) and also its typically Lyon wrought iron key. We find the "mark" of the master locksmith on one of the cremones: P.CALONIER.
It rests on a molded "inverted" cornice supported, at the front, by "ball" feet.
