Enameled gold needle or wax case decorated with angled sections and medallions on green translucide enamel. The case is decorated with translucent green enameled gold panels on geometric "guilloché". Fine gold paillon line the panels. The case is decorated with four scenes on a white enamel background depicting a dog lying near an altar surmounted by a heart and a dove and on the other side of a young woman in 18th century costume. These scenes symbolize Fidelity and Love and are repeated on the lower and upper part of the case and show the sentimental value of such an object.
