A set of four Louis XV cane chairs circa 1750

Elegant suite of four Parisian cane chairs in molded beech wood, carved and waxed. Harmoniously proportioned chairs, violin cabriolet backrest, seat just as generous as hospital, sinuous curvy belt, legs without spacer with inverted arch. A powerful game of vigorous and deep moldings moves all the woodwork. The ornamental pattern, a bouquet of fine florets and foliage centers the belt as well as the top of the file. A similar decoration adorns the corner stops of the front frame to the belt. It will be noted on his back the bands that serve to close the wood once the cane posed. Balance, nervousness, elegance and quality are the most appropriate terms for this beautiful series of chairs.
