Born in 1857 in Rodez (Aveyron). Died in 1936 in Rodez.

He was the student of Gustave Boulanger and Jules Lefebvre at the School of Arts of Paris, he’d exhibited at the Salon since 1878, was at the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1900, at the colonial exhibition of Marseille in 1906. He was a member of the orientalist French painters. He exhibited his work in Alger. He also got a sholarship in 1882 to travel around Germany, Italy, Tunisia and Spain. Between 1890 and 1900 he settled in Biskra where he painted real life.
