French Furniture and Art Pieces of the 18th century and Empire period
Very curious piece of furniture opening with two doors revealing 9 drawers, in amaranth, rosewood and tinted sycamore, stamped IS Rebour, Louis XVI period.
This piece of furniture is very difficult to classify, its design reminds us of Oeben's famous double chiffonier, but it can also be close to the "files archive" stamped Ellaume from the Segoura collection. In any case, this interesting chest of drawers was made on demand.
Original bronzes of very high quality, the lock is marked with a closed crown, Fichet in Paris and a number.
JME and Stamped IS Rebour, Isaac-Simon Rebour, got his master in 1767.
Condition report: restored in summer 2019. Very nice state of conservation.
