Coffee table with tray, attributed to Romeo Rega, composed of a glass tray housing a painted wooden panel with grotesque decoration, bordered by a mold and resting on a metal base with square section, joined by a strut.REGA Romeo (1904-1968). Italian designer, is part of the creators combining inventiveness and elegance in his work, with a strong modernist influence at the beginning of the 1970s. His work is found in a furniture with graphic and geometric lines, see futuristicFurniture Rega is characterized by geometric and reduced forms. His creations are almost always gilded, chromed or plated in brass, adding the elegance and charm for which Rega is known to modernist pieces with pure lines. Although there is little verifiable information, some sources claim that Rega worked with renowned designers Willy Rizzo and the prolific Gabriella Crespi, due to the similar aesthetics of the three designers. With many pieces dedicated to entertaining, such as coffee tables with display cases and furniture for spirits, side tables, shelves and decorative desk lamps, Rega's work is popular with fans of Hollywood Regency and 1970s design.
