An oil on canvas measuring 55x54 cm representing the island Saint Louis in Paris signed and dated 1914 lower left by Alexandre Urbain (1875-1953)
Alexandre Urbain was born on March 1st, 1875 in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines.
He studied in Luc Olivier Merson's studio at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
He exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Independants from 1903, the Salon of French Artists from 1905, the Salon d'Automne from 1906 and the Salon des Tuileries.
He is president of the Salon des Independants from 1941 to 1951.
Alexandre Urbain died in 1953 in Paris.
