Augustin Carrera Born in Madrid in 1878. Died in Paris in 1952.
Painter of French nationality, pupil of Bonnat then of Henri Martin at the school of the Beaux-Arts of Paris., He executed the ceiling of the foyer of the opera of Marseilles, representing Phoebus.
He exhibited at the salon from 1904, then the Salon des Indépendants and Tuileries where he sends nudes, portraits, flowers, landscapes and views of ports that he sends to the Salon of French Artists, Independent Artists, at the Tuileries (1927-1933). It is in his southern views that he is the most ardently colorist. Carrera is astonished by the liveliness of her palette, made of bold, bold, tawny tones.
