French Furniture and Art Pieces of the 18th century and Empire period
Empire period armchair in green and gold lacquered beechwood stamped Jacob D rue Meslée.
Posterior feet "saber", front feet "spindle", decorations of palmettes.
Stamped under the front belt, Jacob D Rue Meslée, stamp used between 1803 and 1813.
"Lacquered" armchairs (mixture of glue, pigment and varnish) were common during the Empire period, gradually abandoned under the Second Empire.
Condition Report: Restored, relaquered and gilded in September 2018, refurbished and upholstered in October 2018.
