French Furniture and Art Pieces of the 18th century and Empire period
Empire period Salon set in mahogany and gilded mahogany whose front legs form caryatids in terms of the taste of ancient Egypt.
High quality work that many merchants and experts attribute to Jacob House. However, according to our research this model has never been realized by the Jacob workshops.
The Mobilier National keeps several copies of this salon, with variants (some are not gilded but patinated or simply varnished), it is furniture sold between 1804-1806 by merchants merciers for various departments.
Condition report: Restored in our workshop in 2018. Restoration of gilding and plates. Upholstered and garnished to new (with horsehair) with a yellow silk.
Resumption of a tenon on an armchair, recovery of several rabbets, traces of ancient restoration
