Selection of furniture from the 16th to the 19th century
Louis XIV commode in precious wood veneer including amaranth, satin and ebony.
Its curved facade opens to 5 drawers on 4 rows adorned with large ebony nets.
Ornamentation of gilded bronzes on drawers and front legs. The two small drawers on the top have lion-headed lock entries. The entrances of central locks represent Louis XIV child.
Fluted grooves adorn the anterior and posterior sides.
The four-lobed sides have unique reflections playing with light.
The dresser is surmounted by a tray framed by a mold in brass. It is decorated with intertwined decorations of several species framing a brass cartridge inlaid in the tray and finely chiseled.
Period early eighteenth century.
Superb state.
