French 17th & 18th centuries furniture and Arts
Oil on canvas depicting "Les baigneuses", French school of the eighteenth century.
The bathers' theme was very popular during the 18th century, when the painter Boucher (1703-1770) launched this mode of representing the nude bodies of women in French painting, expressing a certain eroticism.
Our picture is a good example of this scene of genus, both by the multiplication of the bodies, their nudity offered to the spectators and the beautiful skin tone expressed by this soft palette of color used.
Very good condition.
Dimensions: Height: 105 cm, Width: 84 cm.
Beautiful frame in gilded wood and carved.
