16th to 18th century furniture, paintings and works of art
This painting depicts the meal with Simon the Pharisee who unites Jesus and several apostles. A woman with uncovered hair kneels before Jesus, weeps on her feet and wipes them with her hair, beside her, a bottle is seen, containing the perfume she has previously poured on his feet. The woman's name is unknown, but tradition has assimilated her to Mary Magdalene. Jesus is a guest among others he looks and speaks with other men who protest before this incident, he intervenes to justify the gesture of the young woman.
After the painting by Pierre Paul Rubens (Canvas, 189 cm x 284.5 cm) exhibited in the Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg.
Oil on copper, Flemish school, 17th century with an ebonized, moulded and engraved frame.
