Beautiful pair of armchairs. Consulate period, by Pierre Antoine Bellangé, Napoleon's supplier.
Made of mahogany and mahogany veneer, the armrests ending with carved winged Victories sculpted in the mass, it stands on legs sheath ending with claws on the front and saber shape at the back.
Iron stamp: BEP, topped by a royal crown - Borghese Mansion, British Embassy Paris, two paper labels: "Bellangé 3 B" and "No. 932 mahogany armchair gourgourum purple 1811 " - two marks of the inventory of 1811 and 1831 (or 1841).
