Two solid silver salt cellars from the mid-19th century

Two finely sculpted silver owl-shaped salt shakers. Each piece showcases remarkable attention to detail in the textured featherwork and the lifelike expression of the birds, giving an impression of realism.
The salt shaker on the left in the photo features a lid designed for refilling salt and has glass-inlaid eyes, giving it a vivid and expressive presence. This rare salt shaker bears a Dutch silver hallmark used between 1814 and 1953. Measuring 7.5 cm in height, it dates from the mid-19th century.
The salt shaker on the right in the photo, with meticulously crafted details, represents a more classical design, likely from the early 20th century. It features an illegible silver hallmark and stands 6 cm tall.
