Dial signed Causard à Paris
In red-tinted tortoiseshell and copper veneer decorated with foliate scrolls. Attractive rocaille ornamentation of chased and gilded bronzes, foliage on the amortization, a winged dragon on the bottom of the door.
The enamelled cartouche dial shows the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals.
Alcove cartel, no chimes.

Causard or Caussard Georges Master in 1777, clockmaker to the King and court follower. His brother Edme, George's brother, was also the King's privileged clockmaker.
