Pair of candelabras
Gilded bronze with ormolu and brown patina
Dimensions: H. 47 (cm.)
Paris, circa 1820
A large pair of three-branched candelabras known as “à la lampe romaine”. They stand on a tripod base. Three spheres adorned with claws support a slightly baluster-shaped shaft with foliate friezes and fluting. Medicis-shaped binnacles support the four removable lights. Very fine early Restoration craftsmanship. Very fine burnishing.
Condition report: very minor wear to gilding and patina.
