The baluster body rises from a short foot to a cylindrical neck and a flared edge, the body finely carved and incised with large penny flowers and stylized dragons among the foliage, as well as with a strip of ruyi heads under the bowstring, repeated under the edge, and a band of flower petals overlapping above the foot.
The exterior is covered with a translucent celadon glaze, which spreads nicely in the hollows and thins along the edges the base and inside being covered with a transparent glaze.
The base bears a brand of ragweed carefully painted in blue under glaze.
