The bowl Japan early 19th century - The mounts signed Boin Taburet, Paris late 19th century
Georges Boin, heir to a dynasty of goldsmiths and marchands merciers, joined forces in 1860 with the jeweler Emile Taburet. The Boin Taburet house was renowned for the production of high quality goldsmithery and mounted works and art inspired by the 18th century, such as our Japanese lacquer bowl.
They participated in the Universal Exhibitions of 1878 and 1889 and this association ended in 1900, when Georges Boin joined the goldsmith Henry under the name Boin et Henry goldsmiths.
