Kakemono Watercolor On Silk Representing Guanyin, Japan Edo Period

The painting represents Guanyin, goddess of mercy. The deity is standing, her feet resting on two lotus flowers, floating on waves, she holds the bottle in one hand and in the other the flowering branch which are sometimes her personal attributes. Her left wrist is covered with a light transparent fabric. The expression of the face is soft and benevolent. Watercolor on silk. The fabric is glued to strong paper. Edo period (1625-1868). Total dimensions: 222x87cm Painting only: 137x67cm. Good condition, no repairs.
