Pair of three-branched gilt bronze candelabras from the Directoire period.
Each candelabra features three elegantly curved arms in volutes, rising gracefully from a central point. These arms are richly adorned with gadroon motifs and acanthus leaves, emphasizing the classical and symmetrical aesthetic. The upper section is crowned with a central element in the shape of a stylized flame, a motif often used to symbolize light and clarity.
The slender, cylindrical shaft is divided into sections that highlight the intricate details of the engravings, including acanthus foliage and delicately sculpted rosettes. Each candelabra rests on a tripod base, with claw-shaped feet that lend an antique dimension to the piece. The base has a triangular shape with curved lines, completing the harmonious design.
