A very fine pair of Empire-style burnished bronze candelabra. Two female figures, resting on a block made of bronze, hold the intricate structure of the torches on their heads like caryatids. The rich decorative apparatus of the torches includes four of them supported by cornucopias and satyr heads, while the remaining ones are in the hands of four putti arranged at the cardinal points. In the upper register, the bronze support is decorated with two fish with the heads of sea monsters, while in the center there is a Cupid positioned between two tamed lions. The lower register and the base are decorated with shell motifs.
