Born in South Korea and active in California, Hyun Ae Kang uses natural materials, mainly wood, to create innovative mixed-media works rich in color and texture. Her art reveals the wonder and sublimity residing in nature and in her life, a highly personal meditation on her relationship as an artist with an all-powerful Redeemer. Hyun combines traditional Korean spirit with Western abstraction, synthesizing influences and experiences from East and West. With participations in major international events such as Art Miami Fair and LA Art Show, she achieved recognition in 1993 when the Seoul Museum of Art acquired several of her works. Her work is also in the permanent collections of the Muzeo Art Museum and the Cultural Center in Anaheim.
Since 1993, Hyun Ae Kang has been collected by the Seoul Museum of Art and the Brea Museum & Historical Society.
