A splendid night view of the Venice Lagoon illuminated by the moonlight, in an atmosphere with tones full of the most suggestive nineteenth-century romanticism.
The context depicted, already highly poetic in itself with the elegant silhouette of the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in backlight, offers the viewer a dreamlike vision, where absolute quiet is the protagonist of the canvas.
The painting is signed and dated by the French artist Baron Deslanders E.A. (1800 - 1900), a painter of whom there is little information except for a few passages of his works at auctions, often with Venetian views.
