THE ARTIST
A marine painter, he appeared at Paris' Salon from 1824 to 1869 and was third medal in 1836. He visited Holland, Sweden, Norway, Knight of the Legion of Honor on January 29, 1839 and officer in 1867.
He produced remarkably painted works, many of which are kept in French museums, and his Naval Battle of Epixopia at the Palace of Versailles.
