Louis-Jacques Guigues is a French sculptor , a student of Alfréd Boucher
and later of August Rodin. When Boucher won the Salon Award for La Piété
Filiale in 1881, he encouraged and inspired a new generation of sculptors,
including Guigues, Laure Coutan and Camille Claudel. In 1922–1925 Guigues
was appointed director of Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montpellier.
