Works of art, silver, glass and furniture from 16th to 18th century
Antwerp, circa 1650
The decoration on the reverse of the main doors shows a griffin supporting a tree in an oval medallion, surrounded by floral ornaments. The small central door is decorated with a snake entwining the trunk of a tree. The drawers are decorated with animals: birds, lion (?), ermine (?).
A balckened wood cabinet with similar construction and decorated with the same embroideries is preserved in the Snijders / Rockox House in Antwerp (inv. 77.58).
