Offered by La Crédence
Pair of very large pieces of woodwork (2.22 m high) featuring winged angels at the top, surmounted by scrolling motifs and descending garlands of flowers.
Probably once part of an organ case, or on either side of an altar or altarpiece, their size is exceptional and the quality of the carving is outstanding. Difference in oak color, one a little redder than the other, supported here by the light directed for the photo.
Rare in these dimensions. Flanders, or perhaps northern France? 17th c.
