Tawara Koseki Satsuma earthware Vase

Baluster in shape on a shower base, the shoulder is decorated within four reserves decorated with shishi and hoho enameled in red, blue and gold on a background of geometric patterns. The body is decorated with stylized momiji (maple leaves), peonies and flowering plum trees with two bands of geometric decorations. Under the base the mon of the Shimasu clan in underglaze blue.
In red, the signature Daï nihon Satsuma yaki Tawara Koseki no ga.
