Works of art, sculptures and furniture Haute Epoque
This magnificent little marble bust of a toddler dates from the 16th century.
The child's head is topped by wavy, serpentine hair that clears his broad forehead. His inexpressive eyes, with their drawn pupil, look into the distance. His nose is flattened, his small mouth offers full lips and his cheeks are chubby. The child is shown shirtless.
The child's face is treated in an antique style. Shown as a putto, the child cannot be identified, although his suggested nudity seems to place him on the mythological or symbolic side.
