La musique, bronze sculpture by Jules Desbois, foundry stamp Hebrard Cire Perdue. Jules Desbois was born in Parçay-les-Pins in 1851 to innkeeper parents. An inclination for drawing led him to leave home at an early age to work in Tours, before enrolling at the Beaux-Arts in Angers. In 1874, he obtained a scholarship to study at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, where he became a pupil of Joseph Cuvelier. In 1878, he met Rodin on the building site of the new Palais du Trocadéro.
