Beautiful "La Lectura" clock, based on Reiche's model (Jean André Reiche, 1785) and attributed to Claude Galle, circa. 1800. The timepiece is signed by Gérard in Paris. The image is of a beautiful young woman reading, in a luxurious setting. 8-day movement with wired pendulum that rings a bell every half hour.
