20th Century, Pair of Italian Neoclassical Style Carved Lacquered Gilt Wood Stools
Measurements: cm W 65 x D 43.5 x H 72. Seat height with cushion 59 cm; seat height without cushion 44 cm
This particular pair of stools was made in Italy between at the beginning of the 20th century. The carved wooden structure, lacquered in shades of green and gold, consists of four saber-shaped legs that intersect front and rear. The daggers of the golden sabres are joined by a cross, as well as the two points of intersection of the swords, in order to ensure greater stability to the seats.
The round seats are covered with green velvet on which rests a cushion with the same cover, in excellent condition.
The unusual form of the structure, taken from ancient models widespread in Italy, makes these benches rare objects and difficult to find on the market.
These stools are very decorative and easy to fit into any room you want. They are perfect in an entrance hall or corridor, in a living room or study and in a bedroom. Both antique and modern furnishings are appreciated.
