Hinged oval gold snuffbox. The lid and underside are chased in three-tone gold (white, yellow and green) with ribbon fluting, rosettes and interlacing. In the centre of the lid, within an oval frame bordered by laurel leaves, a medallion depicts a glowing urn overlooking the symbols of science and architecture. At the base, the same oval medallion on a parterre evoking music and gardening, a vase overflowing with flowers on a sandy background. On the sides, alternating with fluting, four oval medallions on a sandblasted background depict quivers, flaming torches and bunches of flowers.
