Ancestor portrait.
Painting on paper representing a noble lady. The style of the armchair and the quality of the cabinetwork suggest that it is a character from an important wealthy Chinese family from the 18th or early 19th century, without however being of imperial lineage because the dragons represented on the dress have only 4 claws instead of 5. The face is admirably painted, the artist played with the light to offer us this surprising face, marked by the years.
China around 1800. The painting alone measures 58x124cm
Good condition, no repainting.
There are paper cutouts at the bottom, I think part of the painting has been reduced.
