The movement, framed by two sphinxes, surmounts a square base richly decorated with pilasters, garlands and stripes of hearts, pine cones and ram's head, which rests on four spindle-shaped feet.
Reservoir decoration: shepherds and shepherdesses on the front, landscapes on the sides, birds and flowers on the dial.
Anchor suspension movement, striking the hours and half-hours, in perfect working order.
The dial bears the partially faded address:
"Rue de Bretagne, 55, Paris".
The plate is engraved with the stamp of :
"JAPY frères et Cie, médaille d'honneur".
