Very remarkable and rare pair of French candlesticks from the beginning of the Empire Period (1807) by Claude Galle in gilded mercury bronze and the patinated quiver rod. These Empire candlesticks rest on a circular base decorated with water leaves. The overall quality of design and execution reveals the hand of renowned master bronzier Claude Galle.
This pair of candlesticks is distinguished by its eminent design as well as its excellent quality of execution. The pair is in an exceptional state of preservation with its original mercury gilding and patina.
