An exquisite Hirado porcelain Katabori netsuke of a puppy, Japan, 19th century.
Finely and delicately modeled, the dog lying down with its head raised and turned to the side, wearing a brown fabric collar tied at the nape of the neck, the short tail elegantly tipped to the side, the animal more detailed with almond eyes, ears drooping and carefully incised fur, the underside with two asymmetrical himotoshi.
