Gilt bronze case with rocaille decoration composed of scrolled acanthus leaves, flowers and foam. The openwork parts are decorated with friezes with cut-out quatrefoils.
At the top, a figure with Asian features is seated in front of a bower, ostensibly holding a sceptre. The richly jewelled costume and the headdress indicate an emperor or at least a high dignitary.
