Illumination Saint Mark - France, circa 1420

Illumination cut from a page of a book of hours. In addition to the quality of execution and the richness of the gilded parts, this miniature is interesting for its representation of a book wheel. Although it is not possible to attribute this work to the Master of Boucicaut, it is relatively close to him and could be the hand of one of his followers.
