This imposing wall capital rests on the base of a sculpted limestone column, decorated with croziers and an upright trifoliate leaf, astragal in a torus.
From a chapel in the Île-de-France region, it was carved during the last third of the 12th / beginning of the 13th century, when King Philippe II of France reigned over the kingdom.
A very old piece.
